I have recently got my android phone and I was searching for a programm to plot equations, to solve equations, to convert units etc… This programm does all this and more… It’s a realy great programm. Many thanks to the developer…
I love this program. I would really really like the ability to copy a calculation result to the clipboard, so I could paste the result into the unit conversion module.
As it is, I have to memorize the result from the calculator and enter that into the unit converter. I know how to copy/paste in the equation area, but I can’t copy the answer to the clipboard.
Please add this feature to a future update.
All I have to say is thank you for this wonderful app.
I like the app for most things but the unit conversions need work. The sun is not 5.e-34 g and the bytes to mb and gb conversions shouldn’t have round off errors (if that is what’s going on).
Otherwise, kudos.
The on screen keyboard should let you type in superscript for exponents without having to go to the physical keyboard.
The unit converter won’t work if I try to convert a decimal number. putting in 2in will bring up the option to convert, but if I put 2.1in, it won’t recognize it as being inches.
This is the most versatile calculator for android so far, iron out the bugs so it’s even better!

I couldn’t find your contact on this page and I have a few comments to make:
1) Although the blue menu icons you opted to use are not that ugly compared to some apps I’ve seen, my suggestion is to use the same icon style as most apps (and Android itself) use. To make it consistent with the system and every other app.
2) You’ll probably ignore this one, but why naming it handyCalc and not HandyCalc? It looks weird in the menus along with all the other apps and it’s also unprofessional with handyCalc. Just my opinion, just a suggestion, it’s your choice 🙂
3) Sticking both the unit and currency conversion tools, creates different names on the desktop. One is called “handyConverter” and the other one “CurrencyConverter”. Options: a) change from “handyConverter” to “Unit Converter” or “UnitConverter” (I prefer the first one, if you opt for the first one, also adapt to “Currency Converter”), b) change “CurrencyConverter” to “handyCurrency” as that’s the name of the app.
That’s basically it, keep up the good work 🙂

How do you do a cube root or an nth root? I can’t figure it out.
I don’t think you can I think you just have to take whatever the variable is to the 1/3 power or 1/9 power. It should get you the same answer.
i liked this app, but i couldn’t use my keyboard on mytouch(i installed hero on it but don’t think that may be the problem)
This app is great!!I have some suggestions to you…
1. Can I use “!” to do factorial?
2. It would be good if I can type sum(1,2,3,4,5) instead of 1+2+3+4+5. Especially if you can implement some other functions (like, product, median, mode, ……etc).
3. where are the drafts (and the tutorial) saved? Is it in a particular txt file format that I can type the whole script in the txt file and load into handycalc?
4. following from point 3, in this way we can enter our custom functions into a txt file and have it loaded every time handycalc is loaded?

I think it’s because of the screen resolution that’s not supported by the app.

I also couldn’t find the calculator in the market (for HTC Kaiser), only the standalone currency and unit converters.
Downloading the .apk and installing it directly works great though, so QVGA screen resolution isn’t a problem.

Just one nitpick, have you tried to input the hex number “FF12” to convert it to decimal? handyCalc assumes that the “12” is an index for the preceding “F”. This does not happen for “FE12”, etc. Is there a setting for this somewhere?
When creating multiple pages, it would be nice to have an easy way to delete pages I no longer need.
Has anyone figured out how to clean pages on this handycalc? I mean shouldn’t this be an obvious thing to make clear to the users!!!

HandyCalc has great functionality! I like that the Unit Convertor and Currency are built in.
It would be “Handier” if the Keyboard selector (123,ABC) and the Mode selector (Calc-Currency-Units-Date) were easy-access Buttons at the top, like where the ‘>’ keys are. This UI change would really polish the app and make it very fast and Easy to use. Thanks, keep up the good work.

I may just not be seeing these on your website for Handy-Calc; but I am looking for an android calculator
that does all I do see plus(at least):
1. 2-variable statistics and correlations
2. fitting of at least simple functions to data; y = a+bx, a+ bx+cx^2, ax^b, a*(e)^bx, etc.
3.deg-min-sec to and from decimal degrees.
4. polar to and from rectangular coordinates.
I have handheld pocket-size calculators from the 80s that do this. Thanks for listening.

Great application! But why don’t you have Serbian currency, dinar (RSD:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serbian_dinar)? You have all the currencies of the neighbouring countries, I’d really like this feature added in next version.

This calculator is awesome.
I only miss something. It’s a bit difficult to define variables and functions because the letters, equal sign and brackets are in different places. So typing “f(x,y)=x^y” takes a long time.
I know it is difficult to put so many keys in a small screen but maybe you can find a better layout. You may (it’s an idea) put the characters “=()” in the letter keyboard, since they are likely to be typed together with letters. This way, typing “f(x,y)=” would be much faster.
